With exciting events all month long, Reno is the place to be in October. Celtic bagpipes, wine tastings, and zombies fill the streets for festive fall celebrations. We have everything you need to have an unforgettable time.
Pull out your kilt and head down to the Reno Celtic Celebration at Bartley Ranch Regional Park, October 5 and 6, for a taste of Celtic culture. Scottish, Irish and other dancers will take the stage with musicians fiddling and piping the perfect jigging tunes. Solo bagpipers and entire piping bands transform the city to give it an authentic, Northern Isles feel.
On Saturday, October 19, grab your friends and get down to the Reno Riverwalk District’s Wine Walk for a day of wine tasting. Pick out your own hand-painted, autumn themed glass from RENO eNVy, Thai Corner Café, The Waterfall or any of the other 30 participating businesses. Bring a Wine Walk map and taste all you can from 2-5 p.m. while enjoying the scenic Riverwalk District. After the walk, head to the Sands Copa Bar & Grill for a bite to eat!
Eating and drinking all month long will have you ready to burn off some energy. The Zombie Crawl offers a day of activities, costumes and a Halloween-style night on the town. Join 10,000 of the living dead on October 26 for the No Brainer Humans vs. Zombies 5k Fun Run, dancing to Michael Jackson’s Thriller under the Historic Reno Arch and crawling from bar to bar downtown. The Sands will offer a place to get your makeup done along with a costume contest! Purchase a Zombie Crawl cup at the Sands to receive $3 drink specials at over 40 participating locations.
